...Gems...

On Guruji's official website , www.srisri.org one can find a number of priceless articles in the wisdom column. While reading one of them the other day, I saved a part of it in my drafts. And while browsing through them today thought of sharing it with you guyzz.
Hope you like it :) because I loved it ! :)
Here it is(..copied and pasted as it is..)

Restlessness

Now let us examine the types of restlessness and its remedies. There are five types of restlessness:
The first is due to the place you are in. When you move away from certain places, streets or houses, you immediately feel better. Chanting, singing, or the innocence of children playing and laughing can change this atmospheric restlessness. If you chant and sing, the vibration in the place changes.

The second type of restlessness is in the body. Eating the wrong food, Vata-aggravating food, eating at odd times, not exercising, and overworking can all cause physical restlessness. The remedy for this is exercise, moderation in work habits and a one to two day vegetable or juice diet.

The third type of restlessness is mental restlessness. It is caused by ambition, strong thoughts, likes or dislikes. Knowledge alone can cure this restlessness; this includes seeing life from a broader perspective, knowing about the Self and realizing the impermanence of everything. If you achieve everything, so what? After your achievement, you will die. Knowledge of your death or life, confidence in the Self and in the Divine can all calm down mental restlessness.

There is also emotional restlessness. Any amount of knowledge does not help here. Sudarshan Kriya helps! All that emotional restlessness vanishes. Also the presence of the Guru, a wise person, or a saint will help calm emotional restlessness.

The fifth type of restlessness is rare. It is the restlessness of the Soul. When everything feels empty and meaningless, know you are very fortunate. Do not try to get rid of it. Embrace it! This restlessness of the Soul can bring authentic prayer in you. It brings perfection, Siddhis and miracles in life. It is so precious to get that innermost longing for the Divine. Satsang and the presence of enlightened ones, soothe the restlessness of the Soul. Do not look for the Divine somewhere in the sky. See God in every pair of eyes, in the mountains, water, trees and animals. How? Only when you see God in yourself.

Only Gods can worship Gods.

..The Blissful Times..

"Hey! We need a form. Some new registrations!"
!
Was it 3:15 pm ? And were we leaving for Rishikesh at 3:30 pm ?
umm..Ya !
And so those who were destined to be there, made it !
In no time we were off on a journey to update our systems.

Carrying gallons of garbage in our mind, here we were : 49 young bright minds waiting to experience a transformation.
We stepped into the enchanting city late at night when the wind was in a frisky mood and the Holy Ganges joined the play as the chilly breeze welcomed us to the abode of thousands of gods and godesses. The very next day, early in the morning, we were busy impressing the Sun God and imitating nature. Yes! We were doing the Suryanamaskars, the Vriksha Asana, Nauka Asana and the like :)
And then... Our very graceful teacher made her entry and in no time there was a little gloominess on each face. Now you certainly cant expect a teen to be happy on hearing that his vital force of life would be snatched away from him.No..I am not talking about breath but mobile phone ! That too for FIVE days !
Oh My God..Oh My God..

Sooo many rules ? Am I here for a positive change ( transformation ) or a negative change ( emotional damage! ) ?
Phew!
Galti toh nahi kar di yahan aa kar ?
But as the very interesting processes were unravelled and as we slowly went into silence, we were overjoyed.Never did we know that we were a sotrehouse of talent and had tremendous energy and commitment within ourselves which could transform this planet :)
Every evening we sang and danced and were completely immersed in the celebrations.
Reason ?

Recall that the first post of this blog says, we are on The Shore where we need no reason to celebrate :)
We learnt so much from this programme !
To overcome all challenges posed in life..
To cross all rapids however fierce and whirling they are..
Infact most such points came from our first hand experiences out there.Like the above knowledge struck us on our rafting day!
Right from the discovery of America by Colombus ( part of a little game we played ) and the overturning of Renu Ma'am's raft, our rafting experience was incredible.
None of the participants would forget things like Chidi Midi-Chidi Midi and Ganga Maiya Superstar !

While one day we went for a silent nature walk , another day we were elated to know that that night we would have a bonfire-cum-party :)

On the day of Baisakhi, besides capturing a ravishing dove shaped angel taking a dip in the Ganges, we had one of the most amazing surprise ever !

Guess..
We actually spoke to Him over the phone !!
Yes! This was perhaps the first course ever in which Guruji gave the participants a LIVE message.Isnt that splendid ? And Anshit's phone( through which we had communicated with Him ) got mukti as it was damaged during the Ganga-snana.Atleast, that is what he was telling us.
Despite the numerous hardships that came our way, the course happened ! Thanks to Saket Bhaiya..He really worked die-heart for it.
Ma'am was radiating unconditional love throughout the course towards every diamond that she was set to polish( read all the participants :) ) and that was evident even as she packed her bags to fly to Bangalore to thank Him for all that had happened with ALL of us.

Well, the course had to be happeneing and sparkling with divinity..
You know why ?
Beacuse just 3 days before the course one of the volunteers had had a magnificent dream. Guri had come to her to tell her that she should definitely be a part of this course as it would be majestic..And it truly was..

With gratitude to the Master for enlightening us with such profound knowledge, tears ran down our cheeks as we hugged each other and wished blissful times in each other's lives ! :)

..Which road ?...

There are times in life when the divine puts you into a state of illusion.
Things seem to be done all by ourselves.

That is the phase I am in.

He has planned everything for me but at this point of time I am made to choose a stream.( As if things would go according to my selection ! )

Kya Guri !

What stream should I go for dosts ?

P.S. All about one of the most fabulous courses ever after you answer this question. The post is ready :)

...Holiday Please... :)

How did you like the changes I made recently in the sidebar of the blog ?
Perhaps thats the only thing I can ask you as I am packing my bags to set off for Rishikesh !

Now for sure, some of the utterly regular followers ( there are two at present and I love them a lot for that...ha ha ha ) would be really jealous to know that I would be off for the next 6 days ( starting tomorrow ) to the Rishikesh Advanced Course.
Off from the blogosphere....Landosphere( ! )...etc. etc.. Into my own world actually :)

Guyz...Dont worry ..I'll enjoy your share also :)

Till then,
Keep smiling
Stay happy
And
Have a great time on your shores !

P.S. Wait for a post on ALL about the grand event. It would be here somewhere around the 15th of this month.

..A true leader..

For the first time in six years she was not chosen to be a part of the leadership squad.
Since class 5 , whenever it was possible she grabbed the opportunity to be at the top!
"Oh! You know her! Wow!"
"What a god-gifted child na.."
These were some of the comments which poured in when she walked up and down the school building all day long. Sometimes it was for a competition and many a times for co-ordination of various activities.
But this year ?
"Isnt this the first time you are losing the elections ?"
"Wasnt your name nominated by the teachers ?"
A series of questions flashed when not she but somebody else was chosen to be the leader.
It was because she was not eligible. Even if she would have been, she was getting intuitions that the KNOWLEDGE-IMPLEMENTING phase was drawing near :)
And that happened..
Her votes were cancelled out after all ! Though she strongly believed in giving chance to others, cancelling the votes was a humiliation for her.
"umm..Actually, I backed out you see..", she remarked when made to calm people's amazement.
But, as one cannot hide the truth from oneself, something kept popping up in her. An urge to look at the knowledge behind it.For all that happens , happens for good.
Hiding her face, this ambitious girl reached home and went straight to the altar.Bowed down but was still unhappy with this situation.
Discussing this incident with a friend sometime later, the friend made a point.
"I am so happy for you.",said he.
"Happy ? But why ?"
"For you realised this thing so early."
??
"...A true leader is one who even not being in chair commands respect. That is where his character comes in light."
!
[ For example, an IAS officer who is proudy and rude would be obeyed only in his office. But as soon as he steps out, he is not even looked at by people. On the other hand,an IAS officer who is kind hearted is obeyed everywhere. He commands and not demands respect as in the former case. ]

And so ready to take the responsibility, shedding tears of gratitude, she crossed another hurdle in life !

Jai Gurudeva !

P.S. You want to know who this girl is ??

A BIG Girl Now :-)

Yesterday was my first day in class 11.

phew !

Cant believe this...Main ? Class 11 ?

Sounds too big a class for me!

But you want to know what happened today ?

Even if you dont want to know, I am writing it :)

Got up in the morning and was doing the page-number decision making. Now dont tell me that you dont know what it is.
Of Course you know it !
If your mind is in a chaos to do a thing or no, choose even numbers for yes and odd numbers for no or vice-versa. Close your eyes, open a page and the last digit of the page number would give you your answer.
Okay! Coming back to the point.
My question was whether I should go to the school or no. My chit-system decision making had given me a green light for the question.( Now if you dont know what the chit system is, then ask me...I'll be glad to tell you! ) But somehow I wanted to go for the former system.
And that is exactly what I did..
Read the next paragraph carefully. You are being given a chance to pull my leg. :)
I opened the Bhagwat Gita in the morning which I keep under my pillow every night and sleep. Every time I opened the book, the page on the right showed up an odd number meaning NO SCHOOL TODAY ! yipppeeeee.... :)
But in a minute I realised how stupid I was ! Isnt it obvious that if the first page of the book is an odd number then every alternate page would also be odd !? odd, even, odd, even, like that...But finally I went to the school.
On reaching school I noticed that for the first time in five years my best friend and I were to sit in different classes.
--Emotions overflowed---
And then hardly any students were present..So it was basically a fun day..
Our chemistry teacher, while taking our introduction, said that my name was in her diary and that she wanted to speak to me.In my conversation with her she asked me whether I was in AOL to which I promptly replied saying,"Ya..Ya..I am a volunteer." **blushes**
Story cut
In the last period of Physical Education, a very funny incident happened!
Our P.E.teacher called me and said,"Anshika, I hope this year you will play. For the past two years you have just been working for the school."
My answer ?
"Sir, I am in non-med. So even I hope."
:)
But to impress him a little ( lol ) I went ahead to play basketball.
One basket attempt
Second Baket attempt
The third one..
Anshikaaaaa....I heard a faint stretched call and for the next thirty seconds I was unconscious..The next thing was my friends pouring water over my face, making me drink water, giving me accupressure points for the terrible headache I was having.
Oh ! What had happened ?
Some football champs had kicked the ball too hard ! It banged straight into the cerebellum part of my brain.( I hope I was successful giving you hints of the culmination of my tenth standard!! )

Honestly, the hit was so hard that I felt it would lead to some serious problems.
But to keep the mood light I remarked,"I wonder after how many days my brain has come back to place.Hila hua tha pehle." :) :)
So thats how my day 1 ended...More confusion(pertaining to stream selection)...More happiness(Coz of the time I spent with my friends..)

AND more Graitude( For the Grace that was on me)

Jai Gurudeva !
