Me..?? Outstanding :-)

When we look around ourselves, we find some people who are extraordinary. These are the personalities who inspire us to be different(atleast me!).Looking at their achievements all you can do is sit with an open mouth :)
They stand where they are today because:

1.They were committed and chose truth and service before pleasure.(read the previous post on commitment for more)

2.They woke up early in the morning and were not lazy bums like us :) shoi agar bura laga toh! :)

3.They chose their path in life and had clear aims.

4.They had the 'utsah' to accomplish their aims and were optimistics.

5.They had all the luck in the world and God's blessings.

Now, we all have one thing in common.
Point no. 5 :P
The rest of them you got to make for yourself :)

P.S. You can add some points of your own here.

Balance the bicycle of life...

"Nahi yaar, course pe jaana hai."
"Nope, sorry! Got a voulnteers' meeting today!"
"Yaar..Ashram this time.."
"Umm..Nahi..AOL friends would be more fun."

NO! NO! NO!
No to all proposals from non-AOL friends for a party, for a get together, for an outing...wont do you any good.Believe me!
I have experienced that!

But ask yourself,
Why are you being polished here ?
Why are you being made strong ?
To stay in the mine ?? To stay around here itself and do the world no good ?

Long time back , Guru Nanak Ji went to a village. He saw a huge number of people there who were all negative in their approach. Big time pessimists.Guru Nanak ji advised them to always stay together, work together. They were very happy at this :)
He then moved on and went to another village. There he saw another big group of people who were all very very optimistic people. All they did was good work.Guru Nank Ji's advise to them ? "Spread!" Listening to this the wise men were very unhappy and demamnded for an explanation.Guru Nanak Ji said,"When the pessimists would stick together, they would not spread their negativity but you all need to do that.Spread far and wide your positive energy."

And that is a message we have to take!

We have to learn to learn and teach to teach :)

And slowly and slowly heal the world! :)

R-e-c-o-g-n-i-t-i-o-n

It is said,"There is no end to the work you can do, if you dont care who gets the credit."

My!my!

It struck me!

Guruji has also spoken on this in the Narada Bhakti Sutras.
He asks,"Why do we want recognition? What will happen if somebody recognises our work or somebody doesnt?Ultimately our head has to go in the mud. Then why to add mud in our head before that ?!!"

Think about it !

:)

My heart beats for you :)

I dont know how many people have accounts on orkut that still exist coz I am totally bored with it!
But today morning when I had to check up something there ( which I think is the only thing left on orkut; look for information ) , I came across some beautiful lines...Here they are :

My heart beats for You :)

I told you I loved you
When we said goodbye
When you put your arms around me
And started to cry.

"I won't forget You"
You whispered into my ear
I hugged you tighter and lovingly said
"If you ever Need me, I'll be here."

I'll miss you
But I want you to know
I won't forget you
No matter how far you gO ..=)

Distance is the Only thing that Will Keep Us apart
You will always remain in My Heart :-)

..Home Coming..

If I rewind my life 366 days from today, I would be standing right at home...At the Bangalore Ashram :)
Yup! Today is my first Ashram Anniversary :) :)

Sudden plans had drawn me to the Bangalore Ashram (of the Art Of Living) last year. I wanted to go there but I acted as if I did not , in front of my parents. But my brother was completely determined to visit the Ashram before his result was out and so I had to accompany him(secret smiles).

My Guru-exam bagan with my first step to the Home :) "Jai Gurudeva..But there are no rooms available in the Ashram..only dormitaries", we were told when we checked in. But He finally made sure that I was very comfortable.
That evening I saw Him, infact ran towards Him eventhough I had sprained my ankle.
For the next 2 days that I was in the Ashram, I simply rejoiced.
From the sacred Devi Pooja to mesmerising Satsangs with Guruji,I made sure that every moment be a celebration :)
I had the fun of my life talking to a number of teachers.. :) It was Sahil Bhaiya's birthday the next day ( 2nd May ) and we spent quite a lot of time with him.I picked up points from that conversation which turned my life around. I still remember the thoughts we shared and the frisky mood we all were in !
One of his birthday presents included a cookie box. In the middle of a conversation that day he paused and took a minute to choose a particular one. It had a big nut on it and so while offering it to me he said,"Take...A nut for a nut." :) :)
We spoke about all kinds of things that day which we could think of ! Right from the Himalayan trip to the state of YES! in Delhi to his Russia trip to my new haircut :)
I also met Bau for the first time during this visit.

It was a wowie moment !
Infact it had to be :)
Afer all I was Home...

And as I sit here 366 days forward, I have sprained my ankle again! So it is also my ankle sprain anniversary apart from the other things :)
Ouch! Its paining...Okay okay ankle ji..I have acknowledged you in this post. Calm down now :) I got to sleep well ! Tomorrow is also the Extempore Competiton folks !
Sweet dreamzzzz...Ya ya ...You can completely dream about You being in the Ashram...Who knows , after some time you could be writing a post on your adventures to the Ashram ??!
Dare to dream :) beacuse as they say, prayers go up and blessings come down..

..Commitment..

I know, I know.
It has been quite sometime since I have not torchered you with a post ! :) :)
Here is one in a rough manner :) Will write a good one in a day or two ...

Read on...

It is easy said than done !
Havent we heard this like a hundred times ! :) And indeed it is true !
Out of the entire human population, 1 percent can take up responsibilty and even fewer ( 1 percent of that percent ) can fulfil it :) Isnt it ?

This is what we call commitment.

When things worth doing are worth doing well :)
When truth and service come before pleasure
And when all that matters is a 'promise' !

There are 3 things in life which dont make a noise when they break ;
1.Relationship
2.Trust
3.Promise

So remember , every promise you break
every responsibilty you drop
every commitment that is not accomplished
adds to your reservoir( if any ) of misdeeds ...

But wait, all that has happened has happened...So begin today...Dont sit and ponder about the past !

Commit yourself to a better world, a better future ! :)

Commit yourself to the service of a Guru, because if at all anything is worth achieving in life , it is profound love, eternal joy and strong peace !

Whats a life without enthusiam ?
Whats a life without devotion ?
Whats a life without a Guru ?

Cheers !

love
